a) Communication and teaching – Rabbis Randy Fleisher and Jim Goodman
JUJ is based on the Jewish commitment to social justice and communicating that Jewish commitment.  Communication takes many forms including classes at the Adult Institute, the Heschel-King awards, Passover and Holiday readings. 

b) Alliances and coalitions – David Lander and Rhona Lyons
As a Jewish voice in the progressive community and a progressive voice in the Jewish community JUJ is committed to forming partnerships with other organizations to further issues consistent with the goal and mission of JUJ.  Liaisons with organizations such as the Jewish Environmental Initiative, Jewish Social Action Network, Black leadership Roundtable, and Jobs with Justice.

c)   Administrative – Linda Gavatin and Niki Nymark
To keep any organization running and growing there are a lot of administrative tasks that need to be done: membership maintenance, membership outreach, web site, mailings, fund raising etc.

d)  Task Force Brainstorming – Rabbi Andrea Goldstein
The task forces are an integral part of JUJ’s mission.   The direction for our task forces needs to be revisited periodically to re-evaluate where our energies should be directed.  This group will help develop the ideas for discussion in the next part of the meeting.

VI.  Task Force Discussion –  --- possibilities include

    1. Workers’ rights
    2. Police brutality
    3. Living wage
    4. Conditions for low wage health care workers
    5. Death penalty
    6. Affordable housing
    7. Medicare and situation for the elderly
    8. Immigration Reform
